NEXUS modern art
In 1999 Ivo Bouwman founded a new company called NEXUS modern art. The first exhibition,
"Meet the modernists at an old acquaintance", followed later that year at the "Art-RAI" in Amsterdam.
With names like Sam Drukker, Carlo Mario Mariani, F.M. Hutchison, Raul Diaz and Julio Larraz on display,
visitors could get an idea what NEXUS is about: bringing works of art by present-day national and
international artists to a wider audience.
Skilful art
On occasion NEXUS modern art brings individual exhibitions to the art scene, as was the case with the
Buenos Diaz exhibition in October of 1999. The Argentinean painter Raul Diaz grasps the attention of his
audience and is recognized for his use of color, warmth and skilful art. Find out more about Diaz

As the second millennium drew to a close, NEXUS modern art featured the larger than life bronzes by Polite.
Luis Montoya & Leslie Ortiz turned the Hague gallery into an almost surreal grocery store.
"NEXUS started out as a hobby", Bouwman explains. "In years to come my aim will be to bring quality -rather
than quantity- with NEXUS modern art, while trying to build a bridge to South America."
